Do German hospitals still have prospects?
The fluctuation among young nurses in hospitals is high, as a recent survey shows. The main cause is work intensification. The current fire, driven by the CoVID 19 pandemic, 31 percent of the nursing staff in intensive care units, emergency rooms and in the rescue service want to give up their jobs in the next twelve months. The figure for doctors is 19 percent. 18.9 percent of the nursing staff are over 55 years of age and will soon be retiring.
The consequences are closed wards or locked beds or even the closure of hospitals.
We work with the German Agency for Health and Nursing Professions (DeFa). The DeFa facility is part of the KAP action program “Nursing workers from abroad” (Concerted Care Action) and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Health. DeFa supports us by taking on the time-consuming processing of applications for the German administrative procedures that are necessary for professional recognition and the entry of nursing staff to Germany.
